EagleGet is an application which accelerates your Internet downloading speed. The program is specially customized for video YouTube downloading, but it works just fine with other web sites as well.
Providing a simple and attractive interface, this tool is properly structured for easy usage; this way, you can manage to understand how it works at first glance. The tool works in two ways: on the one hand, you can open the ‘Add Download’ option and insert manually the link of the web site you want to visit, and on the other hand, you can set it as a default program for no matter what you intend to download from all over the Internet.
Moreover, the program provides a supplementary option when you deal with video files. To take advantage of this function, you need to activate an add-on; as a result, a pop-up appears while watching a video, asking you whether you want to download the running file or not. This option is very useful, since you don’t have to look anymore for the download link on the web site. However, you must pay attention not to miss this pop-up, because the duration on the screen is short and its dimension is small. The supported web sites for downloading are mentioned within the developer’s official page.
Another useful feature allows you to index the files you have just copied onto your computer. As a result, the files are sorted out to one of the three available categories: Media, Document and Software.
I can’t argue: the download speed is visibly faster, but at the expense of other applications running at the same time with EagleGet. I experienced the unpleasant surprise while watching a video online; the clip just stopped when I launched the command to download an app. This unwanted situation can be overcome by making the right adjustments within the program. In this case, I recommend you to limit the downloading speed, an option to be found in the Settings menu. From the same location, you can set the program to function with a proxy.
As a personal opinion about the program, I can say that it’s worth trying especially as it is free and doesn’t force you to install other unwanted apps, as many other similar programs do.
- Accelerates downloads
- Index option

- Other applications running simultaneously are slowed down
